Story

After a small march, everyone had gathered around to listen to the words of individuals who were pouring their hearts out to the crowd. This man was among those people. He made his way to the center, recited poetry he had written, and left the crowd with tears in their eyes. It is the moments likes these that make the events you only ever notice when you watch the news, real. The passion was felt.

In short, I chose this photo for the composition and also for the subject matter. I think all the elements came together well and the subject was captured at the perfect emotional moment. More importantly, I believe that this photo shows the passion of those Americans who must still fight for just treatment in this country.
