When shooting the Lotus flower fabric, I didn't even expect that I would have a chance to illustrate my video in the photo contest. Thanks Nikon for giving the photographers to show their skill to produce both photo images and moving images!

I went to my motherland, Myanmar to make a short documentary about LOTUS FLOWER FABRIC with my new Nikon D800 in 2012. It has been more than two decades that the people who live in Inlay Lake have been practicing the art of weaving lotus flower strands. Initially, they have intended to make the robes for the Buddhist monks from the sacred flower, "Lotus" but later, their lotus cloths have been used making jackets and shawls. Now the lotus fabric is one of the luxury fabric in the world according to world's luxury guide website. The lotus flower fabric video was shot at Kyane Kham village in Inlay Lake, Myanmar on 22 and 23 of June, 2012. To get there, I hired a boat from Nyaung Shwe. It took me two whole days, from 8am to 5pm, shooting the film.
