Story
This short film captures Sangi Adkins (15 years old) amidst her daily make-up routine, reflecting on various relationships in her life, including her twin brother, ex-boyfriend, older sister, and other characters. Not only does this moment exhibit Sangi's connections with her friends, but it also provides a window for the viewer to interact with the regularity of living with Downs syndrome.
Comment
Making this short film with Sangi was an incredible pleasure. I was glad to be able to capture a hint of Sangi’s vibrant personality. We frequently do our makeup together, but I was nervous that a camera might restrict conversation, but that it did not! I am so grateful that Sangi’s genuine character, which I have come to know over the past 15 years, came across to the judges in this short film.
